Dear Motion Picture Musician:
As you may know, there have been several recent changes to the MPIHP that affect musicians covered by this plan in general and musicians with personal service corporations in particular. In addition, the new regulations affect personal service corporations who have been covered by the plan via their signatory status to the plan (and the AFM Basic Motion Picture and Television Film Labor agreement) very differently from those personal service corporations that are not a signatory to the MPIHP.
We have been notified that many musicians have experienced difficulty in getting phone calls returned from the Plan or in receiving consistent information from the Plan. Therefore, this site has been established to provide assistance, information and clarity with respect to these changes as well as to provide information and assistance with respect to regulations governing health insurance in general. But, we are not an authorized agent for the MPIHP, nor is the information contained on this website approved by MPIHP.
We will update this site on an ongoing basis as new information becomes available, and will endeavor to respond to individual questions to the extent we are able to and are in possession of the specific knowledge to do so. However, we urge you to look at the FAQ Section of this site first as the answer to your questions may be contained there.
Please leave an email message at health@rmala.org for specific questions or call the Motion Picture Health Issues Hot Line at 323-446-8316 for more immediate concerns. |
